How to Make Vietnamese Sushi Roll

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

This is a combination of Japanese Hand Roll Sushi using Vietnamese Rice paper. My Malaysian friend's friend thought of the idea and doesn't it look fantastic? You can use anything but I chose to use these
Ingredients:
sliced carrots
peeled prawns / fish finger
boiled and sliced potato
lettuce
tomato
soya sauce
rice vinegar
Chat masala (see below where to buy it) (1)
syrian salad (see below how to make it if you can't find it in Arab shops (2)

(1) You can buy it here here or here . I have no idea if they are fraud. But I love National brand of Chat masala. These are the ingredients Red Chilli, Salt, Cumin Seed, Black Pepper, Ginger, Bay Leaves, Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Asafoetida, Ammonium Chloride. Asafoetida is the secret ingredient. It taste like sour mango a bit to me. Read about it here

(2)I used Durra brand but you can also make it at home with this recipe . The ingredients used in Durra brand are olive oil, Arabic thyme, pepper, salt, carrots, diced, green olives diced, preserved lemons, and citric acid. See picture at the bottom .

Methods (see picture)
1) Mix all the ingredients with soya sauce, chat masala and vinegar. Prepare warm water.
2) Soak one rice paper
3) Leave for 1 minute or until soft
4) Fold it to half
5) Cut it to rectangle
6) Put the leftover cut pieces on top of the rectangle to support it. It is very thin and may break if you skip this step.
7) Put all the ingredients on top
8) Fold it
9) Serve

I added syrian olive salad to give it a mediterranean twist.

This syrian or Arab salad doesn't look appetizing but the preserved lemon zest surely give the olive an extra kick!
